Tremble

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33

My friends, you who are facing storms, you who are facing trouble…He is in the boat with you. He knows the battle you face. Take heart! At the name of Jesus, this darkness around you trembles because greater is He in you than the one in the world.

Why are we reminded to call out to Him to bring peace, to still the storm or to push away the darkness? Because in this world, in our lives, in the everyday moments, He knows we will sometimes waver with fear, face doubt and be surrounded by a darkness that makes our knees buckle. He knows.

Be encouraged by the promise in the name of Jesus, in the person of Jesus with you. Immanuel, God with us.

Find some alone time, and listen to this song:

Watch: Tremble: Upper Room

Jesus, Jesus, you make the whole world tremble.  I woke watching light push away the darkness to expose passing storm clouds.

Peace, bringing it all to peace
The storm surrounding me
Let it break at Your name

Still, call the sea to still
The rage in me to still
Every wave at Your name

Jesus, Jesus, You make the darkness tremble
Jesus, Jesus, You silence fear
Jesus, Jesus, You make the darkness tremble
Jesus, Jesus

Breathe, then call these bones to live
Call these lungs to sing
Once again, I will praise

Jesus, Jesus, You make the darkness tremble
Jesus, Jesus, You silence fear
Jesus, Jesus, You make the darkness tremble
Jesus, Jesus

Your name is a light that the shadows can’t deny
Your name cannot be overcome
Your name is alive forever lifted high
Your name

  • Tracey – such powerful words – His – theirs – YOURS – as the waves of darkness roll over and through me – John 1:5 reminds us, “The light shines in the darkness and the darkness does not comprehend it” – Indeed, Jesus makes the darkness tremble – He silences the fear – as I listened with an open heart to all 10 minutes and 14 seconds of the beat, the rhythm, the heart of their words, I was awakened to how truly powerful His Word(s) are – for the heart of the matter is that the heart matters – Jesus is always at the heart of every matter – thank you for the gift of your eloquent and on point words – I am moved deeply – beyond words . . . blessings from my heart to yours . . .
